Legends in the Making

On 2 February 2015, Builders Academy Australia in partnership with SEDA and Simonds Group proudly launched its inaugural Simonds Building and Trade Program, with 17 promising Program 1 students.

These future apprentices are taking their first step into the building and construction industry, with the program designed to provide students with an opportunity to try different trades, while gaining their senior secondary completion and building and construction qualifications.

Over the course of the program students will be introduced to different trades including carpentry, bricklaying, wall and floor tiling and plastering. Linking their education to their interest in the construction industry, students will complete literacy and numeracy units alongside the development of key life skills including confidence, independence and teamwork, which will assist them in achieving their goals beyond completion of the program.

At Builders Academy Australia, we look forward to following the students’ progress, and the growth of the Simonds Building and Trade Program.
