Builders Academy Wins Victoria’s Best Training Provider
BAA has done it again! We’ve won the 2020 Victorian Training Awards for Small Training Provider of the Year.
As a provider of building courses in Victoria and across the country, we’re stoked to receive this award, which recognises all the great work we’re doing to train Australia’s future builders.
And if you think winning this award sounds pretty impressive, wait till you hear this. We previously won back in 2018 and came finalist in 2017, making us a multi-award winning training provider!
Now that sounds great, but what makes BAA stand out from the hundreds of training organisations across Victoria? Read on to find out.
The award
Before we get to the how and why, let’s take a closer look at the Victorian Training Awards. They’re hosted by the Victorian Department of Education and Training and recognise the best schools that do vocational education and training (VET) programs.
As a registered training organisation (ROT) providing under 50 qualifications, BAA took out the top prize for Small Training Provider of the Year Award and was given the award at a ceremony in December.
Accreditation
Not every training provider offering courses is an RTO. But because BAA is officially registered, our building courses are ‘accredited.’ This means our courses are nationally recognised and meet high quality standards. Why choose anything less when you invest in your education?
Experience
We’ve been around since 2014, and in that time, we’ve trained 8,000 successful graduates. These students have gone on as qualified tradies, licensed builders, or have pursued further studies at university.
Many of them have upskilled to get high-paying work in their current jobs and companies.
Ripper trainers
At BAA, our motto is ‘builders training builders.’ All of our trainers are not just qualified teachers, they’re in the industry too!
Because our trainers have had long successful careers in building before joining our team, they use their first-hand experience to teach you practical real-world skills. They’re also well-connected in the industry, to help you with career and networking opportunities.
Accessibility
We totally get the need for flexible study options, whether you’re already working and want to fit your studies around your day job, or you live far away from a training centre. One of the best things about BAA is our accessible courses.
Our building and construction courses online give you the flexibility to study when and where you want to. Unlike some other online courses, ours are super interactive and full of activities. Our online courses give you the opportunity to chat with your fellow students and ask your teacher questions any time you need to.
We offer online courses in two modes. There’s self-paced learning for ultimate flexibility, and there’s the online classroom which you can attend remotely at set times in the evening.
Australia-wide
Although we’re a Victoria-based trainer, students can take our online course from anywhere across the country. If you’re in NSW, you can do building courses through our sister school CWBTS.
Toughing it out through covid
We’re always looking for ways to give our students the best education, and so we quickly adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re stoked that the award has recognised our commitment to this.
In 2020, we offered even more varied and online delivery modes and made sure our students were happy by understanding their satisfaction and completion rates. We even doubled the number of apprentices we supported!
We’re also big supporters of women in the construction industry. We do this by partnering with Top 100 Women and TradesWomen Australia.
