Skill Training Victoria (STV) apprenticeship students – let us help you finish your apprenticeship

Are you a Skill Training Victoria – STV student? Due to changes at Skill Training Victoria, you will now have to change providers to finish your course or apprenticeship.

If you were doing your Carpentry apprenticeship, Wall and Floor Tiling apprenticeship, or even another one of Skill Training Victoria’s courses, you can change to a new provider offering a number of the same courses, plus many more. Read on to find out how to swap apprenticeship providers.

About Skill Training Victoria

Students of Skill Training Victoria would be aware that the company entered administration on Tuesday the 2nd of July 2019. Worrells Solvency & Forensic Accountants were appointed as Administrators.

While they were in operation, Skills Training Victoria offered the following courses:

  • Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying
  • Certificate III in Carpentry
  • Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
  • Certificate III in Solid Plastering
  • Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining
  • Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling
  • Work Safety in the Construction Industry

Skills Training Victoria had 9 locations across Victoria. These included both regional locations and locations in and around Melbourne. Locations included Dandenong, Eaglehawk, Echuca, Gisborne, Lake Wendouree, North Geelong, Seymour, Shepparton and Tottenham.

Skills Training Victoria provided delivery and assessment services. They also provided recognition of prior learning (RPL), which helps students to move through their courses faster.

How to swap apprenticeship providers

Skill Training Victoria entered into an agreement with Builders Academy Australia in June 2019 to help students from Skill Training Victoria (STV) to continue their training and complete their apprenticeships. All students were sent an email with information regarding this in June 2019.

Builders Academy Australia are fully approved to continue this training under the same funding arrangement that was in place through Skill Training Victoria and can help students complete their Carpentry apprenticeship (CPC30220 – Certificate III in Carpentry) or Wall and Floor Tiling apprenticeship (CPC31320 – Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling).
