ARE YOU THE NEXT AUSTRALIAN APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR?

ARE YOU THE NEXT AUSTRALIAN APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR?

Are you, or do you work with, an awesome apprentice? Entries are well and truly open for this year’s Australian Apprentice of the Year Award. Read on below for entry dates in each state.

Part of the federal government’s Australian Training Awards— kind of like Oscars night on the vocational education and training (VET) calendar—the Australian Apprentice of the Year Award has been running since 1994. It’s awarded to the “Australian Apprentice who has been outstanding in all aspects of their trade”. Recent winners include Ballarat-based welder Patrick Janes, Victorian fitter and machinist Melinda Lethbridge and WA electrician Jared Stone.

To become a finalist in the national awards, you need to win the category in your state or territory. New South Wales apprentices have to get organised early in the year, thanks to a late-March closing date, but other regions have a few months to get their 2016 applications in:

Victorian Training Awards
