Meet Liz – Diploma in Leadership and Management

18/08/2021

As a Community Manager at Collingwood Football Club, Liz wanted to gain more knowledge and experience in leadership. Hear more from her as she shares what she loves about the Diploma of Leadership & Management (CPC50320) at BAA.

I’m Liz and I’m the community manager at Collingwood Football Club and I’m doing my Diploma of Leadership and Management at BAA. The enrollment process was really simple, so I went online and I just applied for the course I was interested in. I believe it was the next day I got a phone call from BAA asking me some further questions and sort of qualifying my enrollment process and within a week I was fully enrolled ready to go.

My main motivation for undertaking the course was to gain more experience and knowledge around leadership. In my role as manager at Collingwood Football Club, I really wanted to gain the formal qualification that I can put on my CV for future use as well. My favorite part of the course is the flexibility that it allows for working full time, I can log on whenever I need to, whenever I want to, and check off units, modules and I can log on from home as well to complete the units and modules. It’s been a really great part of it.

Balancing full-time work and study has been a challenge and it definitely tests my time management skills but that’s part of Leadership Management in itself.

The advice I give to anyone wanting to start the Diploma of Leadership Management is, DO IT NOW. You can manage your work-life balance quite easily around the flexible learning options. It’s really supportive and you’re able to actually put what you’re learning into practice in your job.
